Risaterapia Mission:
Risaterapia promotes actions that improve the conditions of subsistence and development of patients, seniors and children in hospitals, orphanages, marginalized zones, refugees and disaster zones through their volunteers called "Medicos de la Risa" (Clown Doctors) in Mexico.
Risaterapia is a civil association that works with volunteers (currently more than 400). The volunteers are trained in clowning, improvisation and other skills to become "Médicos de la Risa". The aim of this project is to develop compassion in society and a better understanding of life around us.
One of the main goals of Risaterapia is to underline the importance of happiness regarding the circumstances.
Andrés Aguilar
1975: Born in Mexico City.
1996: Obtained a scholarship to study in Clown College, the main clown school in America.
Toured more than a hundred cities with Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus performing more than a thousand shows.
1998 Graduated from Universidad Anahuac where he studied Communication Science.
Toured Europe for five months where he also taught slapstick and juggling.
Studied circus techniques and clowning in England and Belgium.
1999 Created Risaterapia, A.C.
Since then he is the Director of the Association and due to the impact of the project he gives conferences in several companies, universities, NGO’s, etc.
2002 His clown character, Romanok, was the main character of the comedy slots for TV Azteca’s show “Los Protagonistas” during the Winter Olympic Games.
