Her third non-fiction book, due out in the summer of 2005, is entitled Medicine, Marathons and Miracles: Turning a Diagnosis of Cancer into Personal Victory .
Roger and Kathy have been active American Cancer Society volunteers since 1997. In 2001, they were recognized by that organization for “exemplary efforts and success” in planning and organizing a special event. They also received the 2000-2001 Mid-Atlantic Division Board of Trustees Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Roger and Kathy are both cancer survivors who celebrated their triumph over that disease by completing the Marine Corps Marathon in 1999. They are co-founders of The Cancer Crusade , an organization dedicated to “fighting cancer with hope and humor.”
