Laurie Orloff lives in Dallas with her husband and sons. She is a speaker, author and columnist on Joyful Parenting. She teaches violin and viola and plays in several orchestras in Texas and Arkansas. Laurie got her Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from Ball State University in German and Music. She also nearly completed (close, but no cigar!) a Doctor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Musicology and Viola Performance.
She got two parenting certificates handed to her with the birth of her boys in 1990 and 1996 and has since been trying to figure out how to be easy going, light-hearted and stress-free. She has worked so hard at these that she feels it is most cost effective to share what she has successfully tested out and learned.
Currently, Laurie produces the PTSA newsletter for the Dallas Performing Arts School where her older son studies and is a member of AATH and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC.)
