Kevin Smith's background includes performances in clubs and events throughout the country, cable TV appearances, and he was a regional Star-Search semifinalist.
He has penned magazine articles and textbook chapters on humor and is the author of the regular humor column, "MirthBeat," in the Nurse Practitioner World News monthly publication.
Kevin is creator of the original "Anatomy of Humor" anatomical chart and T-shirt and is also a humor writer for newsletters and web sites.
Kevin is determined to tickle your funny bone.
He received his bachelors degree from Winona State University, Minnesota, and his Masters degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
In addition to a busy performance schedule, Kevin also teaches in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Minnesota. Member, American Association for Therapeutic Humor, Minnesota Speakers Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty, Sigma Theta Tau.
Kevin is now teaching a college class, "Healthy Humor" through the Center for Sprituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center. This is one of the first University course offerings related to humor in the health professions.
