2006 Conference Speaker:

You're going to love visiting this Doctor..

Paul E. McGhee, PhD has been called a mix of the "Alberts "- with the heart of Schweitzer and the hair of Einstein. Paul was a pioneer in humor research long before he became a Professional Speaker. After receiving his Ph.D. in developmental psychology in 1968, Paul spent 22 years conducting basic research on humor and laughter while teaching at the university level. He is internationally known for his own humor research, and has published over 50 scientific articles and 13 books on humor.

Paul quit his academic career in 1989 to work full time as a Professional Speaker, offering programs on humor and health/stress management to corporations, hospitals and other organizations interested in learning more about the benefits of humor, and how to build them into your life. His Humor Skills Training Program is used by both individuals and organizations to develop the basic foundation skills required to learn how to use humor to cope with job/life stress, and develop the resilience required to remain effective on the job-even on the tough days.

Paul is frequently interviewed by the mass media about humor. His work has been discussed in the New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, as well as publications in many European countries. His work has been featured on the Learning Channel and National Public Radio , and numerous other American television and radio programs. He has also appeared on Swiss, Dutch and German television, and Austrian, German and French radio.
